The Zomi Nam Ni (National Day) had been celebrated by Zomi worldwide for 72 years now until today to preserve and maintain its culture, language, religion, and literature so that they can keep their Zomi identity among the families from one generation to another.
Zomi community has been observing Zomi National Day to mark remembrance of the historic Zomi Convention, Zomi Nam Ni is celebrated on the 20th day of February every year since 1948.
In Adelaide, this year, Zomi Innkuan Adelaide (SA)- Zomi Community Adelaide (SA) has choose the nearest date which is 22nd February 2020.
The Day is observed as a day of deliverance, love, peace, unity, political retrospection and remembrance of the history of the Zomi.
In addition to the above celebration, in an act of kindness and solidarity, the Zomi Community did an outstanding fundraising job for SA Bushfire Appeal and raised a generous amount of $9,000.
